Teenager killed, pillion rider severely injured in motorcycle crash on NSE

KLUANG: A 19-year-old teenager was killed, while his pillion rider severely injured when he lost control of his motorcycle and crashed into the guardrail at KM50.2 of the North-South Expressway (NSE) (northbound) today (Nov 2).

The victim, identified as Mohamad Amin Muaimim Mohd Fauzi from Simpang Renggam, is believed to have been unable to control his motorcycle, causing it to veer into the guardrail at 9.30am.

The general worker with SWM Environment died on the spot from head and body injuries, while his pillion rider, Mohamad Nizaruddin Umar, 29, who holds a special needs card (OKU) for learning disabilities, sustained a broken right thigh and injuries to his left arm.

He is reported to be in stable condition and recuperating at Enche' Besar Hajjah Khalsom hospital.

District police chief, Assistant Commissioner Bahrin Mohd Noh, confirmed the accident, saying that both the rider and passenger were thrown off the motorcycle upon impact.

"No other vehicles were involved," he added in a statement today (Nov 2).
