KUANTAN: The flood situation in Pahang has shown improvements, with a decrease in the number of evacuees after the temporary relief centre (PPS) in Raub closed this morning.
The Raub District Disaster Management Committee Secretariat said four evacuees from a single family, who had been sheltered at the PPS in Balairaya Kampung Tersang since 11.30am yesterday, were allowed to return home at around 8am today.
In Lipis, the Social Welfare Department's Info Bencana portal reported that 89 flood victims from 28 families remain at two PPS, namely Kampung Beletik Mosque and SK Lubuk Kulit.
Meanwhile, the Irrigation and Drainage Department's Public Infobanjir portal indicated that four rivers in the state are at the alert level, namely Sungai Pahang in Kuala Krau, Temerloh; Sungai Kuantan at Kuantan Bypass, Kuantan; Sungai Dong in Kampung Peruas, Raub and Sungai Jelai at the Lipis Jetty, Lipis. – BERNAMA
