Pulau Sibuan in Tun Sakaran Marine Park closed after WW2 bomb discovery

SEMPORNA: The Pulau Sibuan substation in Tun Sakaran Marine Park here has been temporarily closed following the discovery of what is believed to be a World War 2-era bomb.

In its Facebook post, Sabah Parks management said the closure began at 12.30pm today and

will remain in effect until the area is deemed completely safe.

"The management of Sabah Parks has expressed regret for any inconvenience caused," it said.

Tun Sakaran Marine Park is situated at the entrance to Darvel Bay, off the east coast of Sabah near the town here.

The park comprises several substations or islets, where visitors can carry out activities such as diving, snorkelling and rock climbing.

Pulau Sibuan is among the popular substations within the marine park, attracting both tourists and locals for its stunning natural beauty and biodiversity.
