KUALA LUMPUR: Everyone deserves to enjoy some peace and quiet while at home.
Sometimes, that 'me-time moment' can be disrupted by inconsiderate motorists revving away their car engines late at night.
One man, instead of just sitting around and endure the noise, decided he had had enough of the youths' behaviour and confronted them.
In the one-minute long TikTok video by lansi life channel, the man was seen repremanding the group of youths who had gathered at the area, believed to be in Petaling Jaya, to show off their sport cars.
Holding what appeared to be a police report, he gave them an earful and urged them to stop disturbing the peace.
"This is a residential area, what is so difficult to understand? You guys have common sense, right? ... And what time now? Be understanding la.
"I suggest you guys leave.
"Why (are you) all keeping quiet? Huh? All scared ah, your cars were very loud what." said the man.
During this outburst, some of the youths were seen slowly making their way out of the area while some stayed on.
The video, as of Tuesday night, garnered over 300,000 views and 24,000 likes.
Netizens, meanwhile, praised the man for having the courage to confront the large group of youths.
One of them, Ehsan Aleeph emphathised with the man and said: "We need more people like that guy. Seriously, not only car racing at night around my house but motorcycles too. It is tiring," he said.
Another TikTok user, limae said: "Honestly speaking I agree with this man. It is utterly preposterous to be revving your car at midnight. People are trying to sleep but so noisy".
