#NSTviral: Netizens outraged over Minister's MPV tailgating an ambulance

KUALA LUMPUR: Photographs of a luxury multipurpose vehicle bearing an emblem with the word 'Menteri' (Minister) allegedly beating a traffic jam by tailgating an ambulance have triggered the wrath of social media users.

In the screenshot of a Facebook post, which has gone viral on X (formerly Twitter), a social media user claimed the incident allegedly took place along the North-South Expressway between Simpang Pulai and Tapah in Perak.

"There was an accident (along the route) from Simpang Pulai to Tapah (which caused) traffic jam. It took six hours to get to Tapah from Simpang Pulai.

"What is worse is that the minister's car tailgated an ambulance as if they have an emergency," the user wrote.

In the replies section, users have shared their frustration and anger over the seemingly unethical behaviour.

A social media user, Jalal Misai, said no one should defend the ethics of the driver of the vehicle for tailgating an ambulance.

"Do we already know which minister does this car (vehicle) belong to? If anyone defends such an unethical thing, then, I do not know what to say."

Another user Iqbal Nasir had also asked for the owner of the car to be revealed.

"Name and shame. What is wrong is still wrong. Most Pakatan Harapan supporters are okay with it. What's wrong is still wrong," he said.

The New Straits Times has reached out to the said minister believed to be the owner of the MPV and is awaiting his response.
