Wanita Umno to Kedah MB: 'Do not spread unverified information'

KUALA LUMPUR: Datuk Seri Dr Noraini Ahmad trained her guns on Kedah Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor in her winding-up speech at the Wanita Umno delegates' conference today.

The Wanita Umno chief put Sanusi in the spotlight over his claims that Kedah owns Penang.

"There were people saying that (Kedah) MB (Menteri Besar) Sanusi is popular. Is that true?

"Now and then, his postings on TikTok appear on the news feed of my social media platforms.

"And he is a good singer... It looks like he will sing where ever he goes (which ever event he attends)," said Noraini, who is also Parit Sulong MP.

She went on to tell Sanusi to be mindful before sharing unverified news with the people.

"Yang Berhormat MB (Sanusi), you should remember this. Not everything you said is true.

"It is not right to spread information which is not verified. He has spoken a lot. However, if you are unsure (of the veracity of the information), you should not share it.

"What is certain is that Penang is one of the states in the country. But it (Penang) is not under Kedah," she said.

On Wednesday, police recorded a statement from Sanusi at the Kedah Menteri Besar's office in Wisma Darul Aman, Alor Setar.

Noraini also said that Wanita Umno is ready to face the upcoming state elections, which are likely to be called from this month onwards in Kedah, Penang, Selangor, Negri Sembilan, Kelantan and Terengganu.

"We are not afraid to face our rivals (in the state elections) no matter how popular they are."
