KUALA LUMPUR: Former world champions Aaron Chia-Soh Wooi Yik are through to the second round of the India Open.
They got their revenge against Japan's Akira Koga-Taichi Saito with a 21-9, 19-21, 21-14 win at the K.D. Jadhav Indoor Stadium in New Delhi.
The win sees Aaron-Wooi Yik equalling their head-to-head record with the Japanese world No. 14 to 4-4.
In their last encounter, the Kumamoto Masters second round in Japan in November, Koga-Saito got the better of Aaron-Wooi Yik.
Aaron-Wooi Yik, who lost in the Malaysia Open quarter-finals last week, will face Japan's Kenya Mitsuhashi-Hiroki Okumura next.
Earlier, Goh Sze Fei-Nur Izzuddin Rumsani cleared the first round after seeing off Canada's Dong Adam-Nyl Yakura 21-11, 21-15. They will meet China's Liu Yu Chen-Ou Xuan Yi next.
