KUALA LUMPUR: Johor Darul Ta'zim (JDT) owner Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim aims to buy the top talent in Malaysian football and not release them for competitions outside the Fifa window.
He said this in a statement posted on his Instagram page recently and reminded smart alecs to be mindful of how they perceive JDT.
The national team regulars, who comprise mainly JDT players, were unavailable for the ongoing AFF Cup, which is played outside the Fifa window.
"There are 'brainless' people making noise about the AFF Cup but I think they forgot JDT players worked hard to ensure Malaysia qualified for the Asian Cup," said Tunku Ismail.
"Therefore as my previous statement said, I will continue to kill Malaysian football.
"Today I vow to keep buying the best players in the country and only release them for national duty within the Fifa calendar only."
