KUALA LUMPUR: Terengganu coach Badrul Afzan Razali is a hard man to please.
His men dished out a sensational performance whipping nine-man Shan United 5-0 in their Asean Club Championship (ACC) Group A match at the Thuwunna Stadium, Yangon, on Wednesday.
The win revived their hopes of advancing to the semi-finals of the inaugural competition with two more matches remaining.
However, Badrul wants his men to improve further.
"There's still room for us to improve, and I hope the players can be consistent," said Badrul.
"Overall, we are satisfied with the first three points for 2025 and in the ACC. It is all due to the players' hard work.
"We only had two imports available, and I trusted the locals to raise their game."
The match saw Safawi Rasid opening the scoring (11th minute) before the Turtles bagged a double brace through Manuel Ott (25th and 63rd) and Akhyar Rashid(45th and 72nd).
The match also saw Shan's Zwe Khant Min and Zwe Htet Min sent off by Japanese referee Koji Takasaki.
Terengganu are now fourth in the six-team group with four points from three matches.
Indonesia's PSM Makassar lead the table with seven points.
Vietnam's Thanh Hoa and Thailand's BG Pathum United are second and third, respectively, with five points.
The Turtles will next take on Makassar in Kuala Terengganu on Jan 22 before wrapping the group stage with a clash against BG Pathum in Bangkok on Feb 5.
