Hakim aims to be faster after Losail test

YOUNG rider Hakim Danish Ramli ( pic) aims to iron out the kinks after identifying his shortcomings at the official test of the Asia Talent Cup (ATC) at the Losail International Circuit, Qatar, last weekend.

The ATC will raise its curtain at the same circuit next week. Hakim, who finished fifth last season, said the tests were a success.

"Everything went smoothly but there are still some weaknesses that need to be fixed.

"I managed to improve my lap time over the two days of testing," he said.

"I made a few mistakes, especially at the start of the corners but I believe it's something that I can fix," said the 15-year.

Three other young Malaysian riders — Farres Putra Fadhill, Emil Idzhar Ezuan and Farish Hafiy Farid Sezli — who were discovered through last year's Malaysia MiniGP Series, will also compete in the ATC.

After the ATC, the Malaysians will head to the Mandalika Circuit, Indonesia on March 18-20.

The third round is at the Motegi Twin Ring Circuit, Japan on Sept 23-25.

Hakim is also scheduled to race in the European Talent Cup at the Estoril Circuit, Portugal, on May 8.
