HomeBois advance to Mid Season Cup group stage

KUALA LUMPUR: HomeBois secured their slot in the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) Mid Season Cup (MSC) group stage after coming out tops in the wildcard stage yesterday.

HomeBois defeated Entity7 (Peru) 3-1 in the decider at Boulevard Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, to advance to the competition proper.

They have now been placed in group C alongside Liquid Echo (The Netherlands), Team Spirit (Serbia) and Twisted Minds (Saudi Arabia).

HomeBois, who finished runners-up to Selangor Red Giants in MPL Malaysia this year, will open against Team Spirit on Wednesday.

HomeBois head coach Khairul Azman Mohd Sharif is keen to see his charges further improve themselves.

"All of us (in the team) want to be champions. In the last MSC, I did not have the chance to go (to group stage)," said Khairul, better known by his nickname Pabz.

"Now that I am here, I want to do better. This time, we are fixing our problems by getting some help from our imports and we are set to be better."

Red Giants, who earned direct entry to the group stage by virtue of their MPL Malaysia win, have been drawn in group B alongside Fnatic Onic (Indonesia), See You Soon (Cambodia) and Team Falcons (Saudi Arabia).

MSC offers a lucrative US$3 million (RM14.1 million) prize purse.

The wildcard stage of MSC set a new viewership benchmark for peak concurrent views (PCV) of 373,543, eclipsing the M5 World Championship wild card figure of 271,822.
