KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia are assured of a title in the Asian Squash Doubles Championships even before tomorrow's finals.
The women's doubles final will be an all-Malaysian affair at the Arena Mas in Skudai, Johor.
The second seeded Azman sisters, Aifa and Aira, will face compatriots and joint third seeds Ainaa Amani-Chan Yiwen for the title.
Kedahan Aifa-Aira defeated Hong Kong's top seeds Ho Tze Lok-Fung Ching Hei 11-8, 11-4 in the semi-finals while Ainaa-Yiwen overcame Hong Kong's Toby Tse Yee Lam-Kristie Wong Po Yui 11-1, 11-9.
Aifa said: "We can expect a strong challenge from Ainaa and Yiwen. They have been partners since the 2022 Birmingham Commonwealth Games.
"Aira and I will play doubles for the third time. We partnered in a competition in KL last year and once at the Sukma."
Malaysia's men's doubles Ong Sai Hung-Syafiq Kamal defeated Hong Kong's Lau Tsz Kwan-Chung Yat Long 11-4, 11-6 in the semi-finals.
They will next face India's top seeds Abhay Singh-Velavan Senthilkumar who beat Japan's Tomotaka Endo-Naoki Hayashi 11-9, 11-2.
Ainaa's hopes of reaching the mixed doubles final with partner Addeen Idrakie were dashed after a 11-8, 1-11, 10-11 loss to Hong Kongers Tang Ming Hong-Tong Tsz Wing.
