More Indonesian acting offers for Fazura

RIDING on the success of the recently-released Indonesian religious-romance movie Ayat-Ayat Cinta 2, it seems actress Nur Fazura Sharifuddin’s burgeoning popularity has landed her more acting offers from the neighbouring nation.

Alhamdulillah, I start filming an Indonesian horror film next month in the republic,” she said at a special meet-and-greet event in conjunction with the screening of Ayat-Ayat Cinta 2 at MM Cineplexes Damansara, Petaling Jaya recently.

The 34-year-old was careful not to give away details on the film and the character she would play, but she did hint that Indonesian actress Abimana Aryasatya would also be starring in the film.

Fazura also said once the horror film was wrapped up, she was down for a few more projects in the republic.

“I will keep everyone updated once details are finalised,” she said with a smile. Fazura, who has been acting for the past 15 years, feels humbled for still being perceived as relevant, not only by the local entertainment scene, but also abroad.

The newlywed actress is currently busy on the set, filming a Malaysian horror film titled The Legend Of Pontianak. She plays a sultry vampire named Mina. Also starring are Remy Ishak, Hisyam Hamid, Tony Eusoff and Nadia Aqilah.
