KUALA LUMPUR: Datuk Seri Siti Nurhaliza Tarudin may still be the country’s No. 1 performer but she has apparently been outranked by her nine-month-old little daughter Siti Aafiyah Khalid.
In an Instagram posting yesterday by the cute baby's aunty Rozi Abdul Razak, who is also Siti’s manager, it was revealed that instead of people normally asking about the famous singer, they now want to know more about how the little one is doing instead.
Rozi wrote: “Aafiyah, dulu kalau orang yang kenal Mak Rozi, jumpa kat mana-mana, akan tanya, mana @ctdk (ibu Aafiyah) tapikan, sekarang ni, orang akan tanya, mana Aafiyah, Aafiyah sihat?. Itu penangan Aafiyah dah jatuhkan ranking ibu Aafiyah tau..hahahaha.”
(Back in the days before Aafiyah was born, people who know of my connection with Siti, would always ask about her. But now, they would be asking about Aafiyah instead. It seems like she has outranked her celebrity mother.)
Siti’s baby girl has indeed become a popular figure, as seen by the apparent mushrooming of many “fake” social media accounts created using her name and photos.
In an earlier news report, the Anta Permana crooner said she didn’t mind those fan-created accounts at all. But Siti added that there was a line that shouldn't be crossed and that was aimed at unscrupulous and opportunistic individuals, who would abuse Aafiyah’s name and image for unacceptable purposes, such as to promote their products or services.
