KUALA LUMPUR: Actress Puteri Sarah Liyana Megat Kamaruddin, 38, has confirmed that she will be filing for divorce from her husband, actor-director Syamsul Yusof at the Kuala Lumpur Syariah Court on Monday.
"Yes, as I said earlier, I will be filing for divorce, and it will happen at the Kuala Lumpur Syariah Court this Monday," she said in an interview with Berita Harian Online today.
Puteri Sarah added that her family members fully supported her, following discussions with them and her in-laws.
"It is best to get it done fast so as to avoid further conflict. I want to find peace of mind and start life afresh," said Puteri Sarah.
Syarie lawyer Datuk Akberdin Abdul Kader, who represents Puteri Sarah, confirmed that she would be filing for divorce on Monday.
Puteri Sarah and Syamsul have been married since March 8, 2014 and have two children, Syaikul Islam, 6, and Summayah, 4.
Syamsul was widely believed to have been in a relationship with Ira Kazar, the daughter of actor Kazar Saisi, over the last four years.
On Jan 6, Syamsul took to Instagram to officially announce that he had tied the knot with Ira, 27, in Thailand.
