KUALA LUMPUR: Pop queen Datuk Seri Siti Nurhaliza is once again sharing the big stage with acclaimed American composer and music producer David Foster, this time as part of his international concert series Hitman David Foster & Friends.
The concert will be staged at Mega Star Arena in Jalan Bukit Bintang at 8pm on Aug 7 and besides Siti and Foster, it will also feature United States singers Michael Bolton, Katharine McPhee, Loren Allred and Peabo Bryson.
This marks Siti's second performance with Foster. They last shared the big stage in the Formula One Gala Concert 2014 held at the Sepang International Circuit in Salak Tinggi, Sepang, Selangor.
David Foster & Friends 2023 is organised by Yayasan Prihatin Nasional (Prihatin) which assists young Malaysians from low-income families thorough educational, entrepreneurial and leadership training initiatives.
Proceeds from ticket sales will assist Prihatin's on-going initiative Tabung Kasih which helps youths from low-income families pursue higher education in Malaysia.
The concert is supported by B De Paris Beauty Project Ent.
"It's great to share the stage with David again, and this time I'm also going to meet some immensely talented American singers who include two legends Michael Bolton and Peabo Bryson," said Siti at the launch of the concert at the Royal Chulan Kuala Lumpur Hotel in Jalan Conlay today.
"Best of all, this concert gives back to society, it will help young Malaysians from poor families further their studies and do the country proud," she added.
Siti said that she had always dreamt of collaborating with Foster and she was looking forward to the concert.
"I will sing both my songs and one of his popular hits."
Prihatin chief executive officer Datuk Mohamad Aizuddin Ghazali said: "It may not be a first Siti and Foster collaboration but many of us would love to see them team up for a great concert once again. This concert marks Merdeka month, August 2023, and aims to empower youths in terms of education."
