#Showbiz: 'Thank God I'm not Iron Man or that pervert would be finished' - Pekin Ibrahim

KUALA LUMPUR: Versatile actor Pekin Ibrahim is a Marvel superhero Iron Man fan and shares his disgust with "monsters".

Five years ago, the 42-year-old Bunohan star punched a "monster" who peeped into an actress' bedroom and took photos of her with his handphone.

The pervert, a crew member on the set of Pekin's film, was subsequently handed over to the police after Pekin and the horror film's director performed a citizen's arrest on him.

"What a monster! And he had the gall to invite me for a prayer session (when confronted). That's a grave sin," said Pekin at the film Cerana Biduk Bu Merah launch at TGV Cinemas Aeon AU2 in Hulu Klang yesterday.

"Thank God I'm not Iron Man, or he'd be finished!"

Pekin or Mohd Iznan Ibrahim said that his co-star Sara Daewoo informed him via handphone that one of the crew members had been peeping at actresses at their chalets adjacent to the film set in Kuala Kangsar, Perak.

"After identifying the person, I approached him on the set, and he invited me to join him for prayers. I asked to see his handphone, but he refused, and here is where I lost my cool and punched him," said Pekin, adding that he did not knock the man unconscious.

Pekin and director Haizul Anafer Ali promptly bound the pervert and called the police.

"This is the first time such an incident happened on my film set. This monster is worse than the titular monster Bu Merah any day," said Pekin, passionate about ending sexual harassment.

Bu Merah is produced by Goldhill Pictures and was filmed over a month in Kuala Kangsar in 2018.

Starring Pekin, Fasha Sandha, Sara, Badrul Muhayat and Wan Hanafi Su, it will be screened in cinemas nationwide on Oct 12.
