GEORGE TOWN : Fire damaged 20 'rumah kongsi' at Jalan Kuala Jalan Baru, Balik Pulau early today.
In the 8.30am incident, fire destroyed 70 per cent of the 40,000 sq ft. living quarters.
A spokesman from the Balik Pulau Fire and Rescue Department said the blaze was put out in 15 minutes.
He said eleven firemen and an engine from the Seri Balik Pulau fire station were deployed in the operation.
No one was hurt in the incident.
A forensic team is investigating the site to determine the cause of the incident.
