KUALA LUMPUR: Police are on the hunt for two snatch thieves who assaulted a woman and yanked her two gold necklaces at a pharmacy in Jalan Gombak, Setapak here, recently.
The victim was standing at the pharmacy's cashier counter to make a payment when one of the men approached her from behind and grabbed her necklaces.
A brief struggle ensued, and the man slapped the woman in the face in the incident at 8.47pm on Saturday.
It is learnt that the two necklaces are worth about RM10,000.
"Based on CCTV footage, there were two suspects involved.
"Both men were wearing face masks and made their escape in a car with a fake registration number," Wangsa Maju district police chief Superintendent Rajab Ahad Ismail said in a statement, yesterday.
He said police are investigating the case under Section 392 of the Penal Code for robbery, and urged anyone with relevant information to call senior investigation officer Superintendent Shahrizal Saleh at 017-7134705.
"Information can also be channelled to investigation officer, Inspector Aisyah Mohd Nor, at 013-933 8214, or the KL Police Hotline at 03-21159999, or any police station," Rajab added.
CCTV footage of the robbery quickly made its way onto social media platforms and has since gone viral.
