KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysian Islamic Chamber of Commerce president Tan Sri Muhammad Ali Hashim died at 4pm, today.
His daughter, Alia Muhammad Ali, confirmed when contacted.
The funeral will be at the Taman Perkuburan Islam Bukit Kiara while solat jenazah at At-Taqwa Mosque in Taman Tun Dr Ismail later this evening.
Muhammad Ali was the former state investment arm Johor Corporation (JCorp) chief executive officer.
Johor Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Khaled Nordin expressed his condolences to the late family of Tan Sri Muhammad Ali Hashim while noting the latter’s achievements to the country.
Khaled said that Muhammad Ali’s departure was a huge loss not only to the state but to his country as well for his success in the corporate world and gained respect as a Johor born businessman.
“He has spearheaded JCorp for over 28 years and under his leadership, the company became one of the nation’s major conglomerates,”
“Muhammad Ali also contributed to the development of the Islamic business principles and has given a significant positive impact especially through the Waqaf Corporate instrument,”
“May his soul be blessed with mercy from Allah SWT and be placed with his beloved,” Khaled said.
