MOSAR rescues three injured climbers on Mt Kinabalu

RANAU: The Mount Kinabalu Search and Rescue Team (MOSAR) rescued three climbers who suffered muscle spasms and sprained legs today.

In the 1pm incident, an 18-year-old woman and two men, aged 19 and 26, were said to be having difficulties getting down to the foot of the mountain.

A Sabah Fire and Rescue Department spokesperson said the department received an emergency call at 1.36pm and sent seven personnel including MOSAR, mountain guides and Sabah Park rangers.

"Upon arrival at the location, the three victims were given treatment by MOSAR members to ensure they were stable.

They were then brought down, either by piggybacking or on Robinson stretchers, to the starting point at Timpohon Gate from KM3.

All of them were then sent to Ranau district hospital for further treatment.
