KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia has requested Germany's assistance in repatriating Malaysians from Sudan as tensions escalate between the Sudanese Army and the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces.
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said this in a Facebook posting today.
"The Foreign Ministry will also make efforts to ensure and assure the safety of Malaysians abroad," he wrote.

Anwar also said he had spoken with German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier about the bilateral relations between Malaysia and Germany.
They had also discussed the collaboration between the anti-corruption institutions of both countries in fighting corruption, as well as their joint efforts on green energy initiatives.
