PONTIAN: A workshop and a tool shed were destroyed when a fire broke out at Batu 34, Jalan Johor near here yesterday.
Several vehicles parked in the workshop, including two tractors, a lorry and van were also damaged in the 4.16pm fire.
Pontian Baru Fire and Rescue Department operation commander Mahadir Mamat said 20 firefighters were dispatched to the location. The workshop and tool shed were a total lost incurring 90 per cent damages.
The team's three-hour effort managed to keep the flames under control and from spreading to nearby properties.
No one was injured in the incident. Investigations are underway to establish the cause of the fire and cost of damages.
