KUALA LUMPUR: Selangor police have launched an investigation against a man who berated a police sergeant in a viral video.
State police chief Datuk Hussein Omar Khan said the case was being probed by a team of investigators from the state police headquarters.
"Investigations are still ongoing and at a preliminary stage. It would not be fair for me to comment until the investigation has been fully completed,
"We need to be fair to both sides," he said, adding more information needed to be gathered before he could make any statement.
Hussein said he will call for a press conference after the investigation was completed.
A source close to the investigation told the New Straits Times that the man in the video was likely holding a personal grudge against the sergeant.
In the video that went viral, the man admitted that he had been implicated in a court case involving an allged illegal transfer of ownership of a car, which was owned by a woman
However, in the same video, the man hurled accusations againts the police sergeant for wrongdoings in relation to this case that went to court. The man also claimed that sergeant and the woman had been an item.
