NSTP booth a hit at KL International Book Fair

KUALA LUMPUR: Visitors to the 41st Kuala Lumpur International Book Fair at the Kuala Lumpur World Trade Centre (WTC) are not missing out on the opportunity to visit the New Straits Times Press booth to take advantage of various special offers.

NSTP business development and special projects manager Tengku Kaifi Mirza Tuan Cherit said among the popular offers was the digital newspaper subscription, with many taking the opportunity to open an e-paper subscription account.

He said NSTP offers a free one-week digital newspaper subscription, where visitors can choose one of the three publications: Harian Metro (HM), Berita Harian (BH), or the New Straits Times (NST).

"Outside of this event, the digital newspaper subscription costs RM5.40 for a week. Therefore, we encourage all KLIBF visitors to come to (our) booth to support the purchase of NSTP digital newspapers, and there are many attractive prizes offered to them.

"Interestingly, one registered account can be shared with three other 'users' and they can read the e-paper as early as midnight every day," he said.

Tengku Kaifi said that on the fifth day of NSTP's presence at KLIBF, the response was very encouraging, with a significant number of visitors allowing sales to meet their target.

He added that for this year's fair, NSTP aims for e-paper sales amounting to RM50,000, which equates to subscription sales to over 9,000 readers.

He added that throughout the fair, which will last till June 2, a total of 4,500 free newspaper copies will be distributed to visitors.

"The purpose of distributing free printed newspaper copies is to ensure that the public is aware and recognises that NSTP publications are still available in the market.

"This approach also encourages the younger generation, especially students, to read printed newspapers. Many teenagers might not read printed newspapers, so, through KLIBF, they will be more exposed, rekindling interest in reading printed newspapers," he said.

KLIBF 2024 is being held at WTC from 10 am to 10 pm.

Tengku Kaifi said that besides digital newspapers, NSTP also offers annual subscriptions for physical newspapers.

"For those who register here, the price offer is much cheaper, at RM344 for a Monday to Friday newspaper subscription and RM500 from Monday to Sunday.

"Those who register will be given special NSTP souvenirs such as umbrellas and hats for free," he said.

He added that those who want to get Anugerah Bintang Popular BH (ABPBH) merchandise can visit the booth to purchase them at reasonable prices.

Additionally, every purchase of various NSTP products, such as novels, will come with a gift, namely Julie's Biscuit Bags, sponsored by Julie's Manufacturing Sdn Bhd.
