KOTA TINGGI: Johor sailing athlete Nur Hazurah Md Hazahar, 21, was killed when her motorcycle crashed into a vehicle making a U-turn in Jalan Dato Onn, Bandar Penawar, yesterday (Jan 1).

Nur Hazurah, who represented Johor in sailing at the Malaysia Games in 2022 and 2024, suffered fatal head injuries. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver was not injured.

Nur Hazurah's remains were taken to Kota Tinggi Hospital for a post-mortem.

District police chief Superintendent Yusof Othman said in the 4.50pm incident, Nur Hazurah was riding a Yamaha Y15ZR when she crashed into the rear of a Perodua Kenari driven by a 51-year-old man.
