KUALA LUMPUR: Former national player Khalid Ali wants Selangor's top management to step down for failure to regain the glory days of the club.
Selangor have not won a title in the M-League since their 2015 Malaysia Cup triumph.
"The club management should take full responsibility for Selangor's poor performance. They have already been given enough time to make changes," said Khalid.
"With a huge budget, Selangor should be challenging for titles. However, the club are not doing well.
"In every club, if there are no titles, the management has to take responsibility and resign. New people might do the trick in reviving Selangor's fortunes."
Selangor's best finish since their 2015 Malaysia Cup triumph was third in the Super League in 2019.
The club recently replaced head coach Michael Feichtenbeiner with Nidzam Jamil on a caretaker basis due to poor results in the current season.
"Nidzam is a good coach, but he is still learning. Selangor should look for an experienced coach with Nidzam as the assistant.
"The club should go for local coaches. Former national coaches Tan Cheng Hoe and K. Rajagobal are available, and Selangor should consider one of them," Khalid added.
