KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia's world football ranking has dropped a rung, to 133rd after the 4-0 thrashing by New Zealand in a friendly recently.
In the Fifa rankings released today, Malaysia stand 24th in Asia and trail their Southeast Asian rivals, Thailand (world No. 96), Vietnam (119th), and Indonesia (130th).
Japan are the highest ranked Asian team (15th) followed by Iran (19th), and South Korea (22nd).
