KUALA LUMPUR: As fans countdown to Datuk Sheila Majid’s much-anticipated sold-out concert, celebrity friends who are unable to attend the show have stepped up to voice their support for one of the nation’s most beloved songstress.
Among them are Los Angeles-based Yunalis Mat Zara’ai (Yuna) and Hero Seorang Cinderella actress Nur Fazura Sharifuddin, who dedicated special video messages to the 52-year-old singer, which was recently uploaded on Sheila’s Instagram account.
Yuna, in her video clip said: “My idol, I just wanted to say all the best for you concert.”
“Thank you so much for inspiring me and all of us young musicians to be just as sweet and wonderful and successful as you. I’m sorry I can’t come to your concert,” said the 30-year-old who was recently in town for her Yuna X Uber Secret showcase in Bangsar.
Nur Fazura, 33, who also idolises Sheila said: “I want to congratulate you in advance for the success of your upcoming concert. I’m so jealous everybody gets to go and I don’t, but my prayers are with you.”
Besides Yuna and Fazura, Indonesian artistes like singer Afgansyah Redza (Afgan), lead singer of rock-group Gigi, Armand Maulana and actor-singer Evan Sanders also sent their best wishes to the Sinaran singer.
Afgan, 28 said: “I know you’re going to do great as usual and I’m excited for you. I just wanted to say thank you for your music throughout the years. You are one of my biggest inspirations.
“I always say I’m grateful to know you in person and that I have the chance to be your friend. I’m sending you good vibes for the show.”
Armand, 46, on the other hand said: “The most important thing is to have good stamina in order to run a good show. But I’m sure it will be great, because this is Sheila Majid we’re talking about.”
Meanwhile Evan, 35, sent a short message wishing Sheila the best.
On Saturday, Sheila will return to rock Stadium Negara. The last time she held a concert of this scale at the same venue was in 1991 for her Legenda concert.
