Train collides with two vehicles near Kota Kinabalu airport [NSTTV]

KOTA KINABALU: A Sabah State Railway Department (JKNS) train collided with two vehicles near the Kota Kinabalu International Airport (KKIA) here today.

District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Mohd Zaidi Abdullah, said the accident happened at about 3pm.

He said the accident involved a six-tonne lorry, a four-wheel drive (4WD) vehicle and a passenger train travelling from Papar to Kota Kinabalu.

"The lorry and 4WD vehicle were travelling from Luyang towards KKIA when the accident occurred.

"There were no injuries or casualties reported," he said when met at the scene today.

Mohd Zaidi said an investigation will be carried out to identify the cause of the accident.

The case is being investigated under Section 337 of the Penal Code.
