Johor flood situation improves as weather lets up in most districts

JOHOR BARU: Flood victims are allowed to return to their respective homes today after the situation improved following sunny weather in Tangkak and Segamat.

However, there are still 168 victims from 48 families housed in 6 relief centres in both districts, which were hit the hardest by floods.

The number of flood evacuees statewide continued to record a downward trend as sunny weather had been forecast in nine out of 10 districts today. Mersing was the only district experiencing rain since last night.

Earlier, Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, who also chairs the National Disaster Management Committee, had issued a warning to the public that a second wave of floods was expected in Johor and Pahang.
