ACTOR and comedian Ebby Yus, 59, believes every test by God is based on one's ability to endure it.
The senior comedian, whose real name is Muhammad Yunus Abdul Rashid, encourages people to pray for the best and avoid passing quick judgment.
"Last year, the entertainment industry was undeniably heated with various controversies involving artistes.
"In 2025, I hope for better things and smoother paths ahead.
"I am truly grateful to everyone who has supported me, especially my fellow artistes who have been of great help. Only Allah can repay their kindness," he told 'Harian Metro'.
Asked about the arrests of local comedians over use of prohibited substances, Ebby said such situations are life's trials and should not lead to public shaming.
"I prefer not to comment much as this is a test they are facing. I hope they remain strong and that we continue to pray for everyone's well-being.
"We don't know the full details of what happened, so let the law handle it," he added.
Ebby is currently managing the second branch of Bumbu Babah, an eatery owned by comedian and radio presenter Ajak Shiro, in Pasar Seni, Kuala Lumpur.
The venture provides him with an income amid his ongoing health challenges.
Ebby, who suffers from chronic kidney disease and heart problems, has not received acting offers for months, leading to financial difficulties.
